Marcus Degerman: "The works that gave up (their complexes)"

Why are certain things ''good" and other things ''bad"? A couple of years ago Marcus Degerman primed a large canvas, his ambition was to give the painting a perfect finish. However, the primer paint could never hide a seam in the canvas and to top it all the canvas also began to crack. A similar thing happened to a shelf and a bedside table which Degerman made. They were lopsided and warped instead of straight and even. Is this the same as failure? According to a particular view it is, but with another perspective these works attain new subtle qualities beyond the expected and familiar.
